Cancer Screenings
MO HealthNet Health and Wellness Program wants to help you live a healthy lifestyle.
Having regular cancer screenings is one of the best things you can do to stay healthy.
Screenings help find problems before they become serious. If you catch a problem
early, there’s a better chance to cure it.
If you are 20 years old or older, you should have regular checkups – including
a cancer-related checkup – with your provider. The cancer-related checkup
should include health education and may include screenings for cancers of the thyroid,
mouth, skin, lymph nodes, testes, and ovaries.
Review these Cancer Screening Schedules
to see if you are due for a cancer screening. You may need to follow a different
schedule if you have an increased risk for cancer (e.g., personal or family history
of cancer or certain health conditions). Call your provider to find out if a cancer
screening is right for you.
