Missouri Care Health Plan has a program to
prevent or identify health problems for children from birth to age 21. This program
is based on checkups for your children even when they are well.
Well Child Checkups include:
- Health Screening
- complete health and developmental history
-
complete physical exam
- appropriate immunizations according to age and
history
- any needed laboratory
test
- Vision screening (eyeglasses if needed)

Dental screening
- Hearing screening
- Speech services
- Any other necessary health care, services treatment
or education
Schedule Well Child Checkups at the
following times:
- First visit at 2 to 3 days old.
- Six (6) additional visits during the first
year of life
- Two (2) visits in the second year of life

One (1) visit yearly for ages 2 through 5

One (1) visit every other year for ages 6
through 20
